One of these days I would like to carve a wooden nativity scene with animals in it.  

For now these stuffed ones on the bottom of my tree will have to do:)

When some insist on wishing "happy holidays"

I smile, for holidays is a shortened version of "holy days."

The birth of Christ is one of the holy days celebrated by many.
To you who do, a merry Christmas.

I seem to be a magnet for poinsettias! Somehow I end up with one every year.
Last year I bought a peach colored one for a painting,
and still someone gave us one
this year I was given one by a customer of hubby, 
who got it as a present, but has a cat that likes to chew on leaves

Mary was probably not a smiling madonna 

as she was sometimes portrayed, 

giving birth to her first born son Jesus
 ... in a barn.

Very uncomfortable at the least, in a stall 
 on a cold winter night, not in a room.
