THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR

*We spent the first day of the year hanging out around our favorite sites in San Diego.

high in the sky
sails and ladders and ropes of the Star of India
with an amazing sun breaking through the clouds

Walking on the edge of the beach,
a lovely house with climbing roses
with a sky reflection in the windows

Tonyan Boat Club, Watercolor. 8 1/2 x 6 1/4 St Germain

The clutter on this porch inspired me
to a small watercolor on Canson paper
Whatdoya know -there's a reflection of the sky in the left window!

Took the pic in photoshop for color and value changes,
Will post it on my artblog with Art Notes
later in the year with the real colors:).

everyone's taking it easy
except for these fishing buddies
full of the zest of life!

these azalea I find blooming
by my door for at least a month

What do you LIKE to do in the Beginning of the Year?
Before I post my next series of pics, I'll try to visit as many as I can, instead of the usual reply underneath your comments. If I can't get to you, because your Google circle, I'll reply in the comment box...

Such beautiful and vibrant colors. I am enjoying temps in the 30s, perhaps 50 later this week then back down to the 20s. That's Michigan. lol

What lovely sunny shots!

I like sun on glittering snow (but the sun part has been sadly lacking over here).

Lovely variety of scenes in this post! Adore the magic of the climbing roses! And it's good to see young characters getting away from the internet and enjoying a spot of fishing!

EVERYONE -tried to visit most of your blogs instead of commenting here. For some of you - since the google circle came up, I wasn't sure what to do!

lol, I love that old cottage. :)

You left FB just to go to GOOGLE+? Well, at least you put your links to the blog unlike others.

I only use FB for my family as they are now scattered around the globe. Never psot shots there, only like you now, I post links. Welcome back to blogworld.

THE ONES I COULD NOT LEAVE A COMMENT, ARE HER BELOW

Judy,
even in Southern California it has been in the 50ties during the day, and at night dipping to the 40ties and 30ties -very unusual!

VBR,
I love these climbing roses too -so romantic!

Hooray! What a busy, sunny and happy link for the letter "H".

I think I'd just like to look at all these wonders!

The sun on the water, the sails billowing in the breeze.

This was wonderful!

Thank you for sharing.
