Hope my knitted cowl she wrapped around on Christmas morning
softened the pain of her toe (broken in two places)
on the midnight before!
her hubby is an EMT so he knew what to do.
None of the adults slept that night, because he kept
running up and down the stairs to ice her toe.
She's probably the only one who caught some Zzz's
Since she is nursing her baby, she could only take Ibuprofen
Since she is nursing her baby, she could only take Ibuprofen
we were one weary bunch on Xmas day
in solidarity we made it a pajama party:)
since I was helping out with Chirstmas dinner
I forgot to take pics
since I was helping out with Chirstmas dinner
I forgot to take pics
tiny reflection on what looks like a tea- or fondue set
More than a consolation prize was that the cowl I knitted
(brioche stitch on purlbee.com ) looked more elegant
than the one I saw in this well known
pricey store in South Coast Plaza..
This Christmas story reminds me of the time
we had a new secretary at the counseling center.
On her first day she had to call 911 because
my client had become unwell after the session
and was taken to the hospital on a gurny
and was taken to the hospital on a gurny
by two paramedics, passing right by her desk.
I assured, looking at her panic stricken face, "This NEVER happens."
Sure...doc, I don't believe it."
Haven't been to the snow yet (2 hours away), but I remember
that particular day in Yosemite Nat. Park while taking these pics
we were in the middle of nowhere,
when I suddenly fell into a snow hole so deep
that I needed help of hubby to get out.

Some people think taking pics are boring???
I AM PREPARED TO TAKE ON 2013 - ARE YOU?
I just hope that things happen at the "right" time, lol!

Great shot.

A Christmas with unique memories! I like how you all took it in your stride and had fum anyway. Hope the toe is mending well.
ouch! Not a nice thing to do. And the nursing baby thing prevents you putting the ice in things to drink that could dull the pain!

Just because its Christmas doesn't mean the world stops, does it? Poor woman! I'm sure the beautiful cowl was a consolation and a reminder of hopeful things to come.

What tiny tiny reflection indeed ! Funny !
Oh my gosh -- your daughter (in-law?) is all better -- you did make her a beautiful scarf. What a funny post about mishaps. And yes, may 2013 be accident-free and happy!
Sounds painful on the toes. Nice shot at the end.
Happy New Year!
Happy New year to you and yours! Your knitted cowl is very pretty. I hope the toe heals quickly. Have a great weekend!
Puxa, espero que os dedos do pé já estejam melhores...linda paisagem, um abraço!
Thank you so much for your visit to my post today. You are right about the buildings that caught my eye. They were definitely not a bit modern. Smiling here. I used Pink Saturday 'license' for my heading and really did not mean anything literally. I noticed everywhere we visited how very stylish Europeans were. I also must say, very friendly. It was a wonderful experience in every way. I can't wait to go back.
Your poor sister with her broken toe. Also, trying to take care of her baby. She did look like she loved the lovely scarf you made. So do I. Perfect in pink and white.
I once skied into a deep hole in the snow and had to be dug out. We laughed a lot. I'm glad you were rescued. LOL.
I am taking on 2013 with gusto.
XO, Jeanne
Nossa, eu espero que vc não tenha sentido mais dores! tenha uma ótima semana!
Hope her toe is better now.

Oh! I hope that toe is on the mend!
I like your supportive solidarity!
Happy New Year!
Jim,
Thank you! And a Happy New Year!
Pieces of Sunshine,
Guess it didn't even occur to us to let that ruin our day:)
Stewart,
Yes, and my daughter has a high pain tolerance, but she's a trooper. Wishing you a Happy New Year!
Kat,
I saw her face light up - I knew she really was looking forward to it (she had sent me the pattern).
Happy New Year, Kat!
Tsuki,
I didn't feel like going back to the store, to do a macro of it:) Happy New Year!
Sallie,
This is my second daughter. Luckily she has a nanny for the kids so we could go back to LA.;0
Stephanie,
Especially because it was broken in 2 places! Thank you and have a great 2013!
Michaela,
Thank you for stopping by...you have a happy New Year too!
Eileen,
Thank you, Eileen! The day after she got a boot she went back to work!
Vane,
Thank you for stropping by! Your blog seems in English? Would be so grateful if you do your comment in English, since I don't know how to get the comments translated.
Jeanne,
Thanks for the explanation! I already couldn't imagine why you thought Eur. like pink:):)
Am glad I wasn't the only one who had to be dug out!
Maria Luiza,
Thanks so much for your comment and have a happy New Year!
Maria,
It's still in a cast/boot, but her life has gone on. Thanks for asking!
Jenny,
Thank you Jenny! Sorry, have been so busy last month that I didn't have time to look up 10 other blogs.
Great shot ~ Happy New Year.

I broke my toes and my hubby wrapped them for me. You really can't do much else.

Ouch, I hope the toe heals fast. I like that last photo.

Hello Jesh, Happy New Year and thanks for your visit to my site. I am so sorry for your daughter with the broken toe, my mother at 83 had that too! I am not familiar with the word 'cowl' so thanks for having me another word to my vocabulary. We use scarf or shawl, but we don't normally use these things here in the tropics. It is very hot to be using something like that, haha! I also smiled when you drop into a snowhole, if i were the husband maybe i will be smiling while hauling you!
How precious!
Z is for...

Hope the Mama is feeling much better now! It's hard to stay off your toes when you have a baby.
Sweet little one getting Zssss is just oblivious to all the excitement. Hope she get well real soon.
Ann
I can imagine you falling in as the shutter closes- but lucky you managed to take it BEFORE you fell! Interesting collection of pics - love the baby one too.
Thank you for taking part in Mandarin Orange Monday:)
