Even in California the weather at the beginning of the year,
has been far from Mild!
Cloudy skies, lower temps and a lot of rain.
I know it's nothing compared to the East Coast.
Really miss the stark blue sky
my "treatment" is posting these pics from last year January!

This small Firehouse
so close to the marina of Balbao Island
but I see how it's a precaution
for the main street nearby with shops,
always packed with people
Always some activity at the marina
such a relaxed atmosphere
people eager to chat
regal purple flowers along the road
for your Valentine's Day-
have a happy one!

Great series of shots!
I like the purple flowers.
Yes, those purple flowers are stunning, Jesh. And that's a pretty neat reflection of the boats, too!
Very pretty sunset! And the flowers are gorgeous. Cool capture of the reflections. Love these photos, well done!
Lots of people seem to be looking back (or ahead) to spring these days. Your "treatment" makes me smile, even though we're in one of the few places where the sun is shining these days.
Pretty series of shots!
Great shots! Awesome color on the flowers :)

Great series!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Your processing of the firehouse for MoM really did warm it up - the warm colour and soft textures make it feel like summer.
Thank you for being part of Mandarin Orange Monday:)
Great shots but the purple flower really stands out.
I love the white building with the clear sky behind it and also the boats with their reflection in the water! Great shots!
Those purple flowers are gorgeous!
Your painting of the orchid is exquisite! Especially love the curl of the petals! And the second flower is a beautiful rich purple!
All your colors and edits are wonderful. The purple flower is a tibouchina.

Your transformation of the purple flowers is truly lovely! Well done! :-)
Oh my gosh, that tiger lily oil painting is stunning, I think it surpassed my previous favorite of your work (the angels). And I am not usually a fan of flowers in art as they are such a common subject. But this is just gorgeous.
Earlier last week we had a mild day and I texted my daughter who lives in San Diego that "our temp was 56 like S.D." She responded, "What do you mean, we are at 79 today." Ugh.
Valerie, went to your blog, before replying here. Have a great week!
Indrani, seeing all kinds of flowers in subtropical climate I have not seen before!
Eileen, your visits here are always a pleasure!
My origin from Holland, I really understand about wanting to see a blue sky in winter!
Sallie, me thinks it's the weather keeps people flocking to subtropical areas;0
Stephanie, thank you -have to visit you soon!
Irene, these compliments are well received from such a skillful photographer like you!
Yes Ayu, California is a great place to live, except for the high cost of living here!
Ebie, these houses are not even the oldest, which are a lot smaller and more quaint.
Kim, thank you!
Laura, great to see you back here:)
Thank you Gary! Have a wonderful week!
Lorik, thank you! Love this firehouse because it looks so small!
Fun60, I love to maximize a purple shot, because it's one of my fave colors:)
Jackie, they caught my eye, so I love them too -thank you!
Dana, thanks for visiting here, and hope you'll come back many times. Have a great week!
Gemma, I like to exaggerate the idiosyncrasies of the particular flower -thanks for noticing!
Bettyl, Thanks for naming this flower. Since I started taking more shots for my blogs, I notice the flowers I've never seen in Holland (country of origin)!
Thank you Leovi! I wonder how the photo edit would look like if you would do it:)
Roger, you've seen it well. That's why every weekend it looks like the 4th of July!
